Service providers new to marketplace platforms find it hard to land gigs either because they have no ratings yet on their profile or because clients will mostly go for older profiles. To fix this, we are introducing a three way search system. With this Clients can search for and hire a service provider using any of the search system.
This provides more option to help clients pick a service provider. It also help new and old service providers on the platform to have access to more job opportunities and land more gigs.
This is the conventional search system. Clients search for a needed service, a list pops up with service providers that offer required service. The client then browses through the list and and picks the best person for the job.
The major flaw with this search system is that clients mostly pick the highest rated service provider. New service providers on the platform have no ratings at all because they’ve not gotten a job from the platform. A client will hardly leave a service provider rated 4.8-5.0 for a client with zero ratings. How then should new service providers get jobs?
Search system two: Clients puts up a job post with a detailed description, budget, and timeframe. Service providers offering required services apply to the job and submit proposals, Service providers get the opportunity to pitch themselves, make offers and give reasons why they should get hired. Clients go through the proposals and make a choice.
This system makes it easier for new service providers to get jobs because clients mostly pick base on how well they pitch themselves through their proposals.
Search system three: This is quite similar to search system two. Clients post a a job with a detailed description, budget, and timeframe. A Service provider who is okay with the terms can then accept the job, and they get added to a waiting list. This enables the client to view the service provider profile, see previous jobs done, and then decide whether to hire the service provider or not. During the waiting period, another service provider cannot apply to the same job and a time icon is displayed next to the job post.
The job is removed from the marketplace if the client accepts the service provider, the job remains on the marketplace if the client declines. The time icon is removed and other service providers can then accept the job.
With these three search systems, new service providers on the platform can land their first gigs and earn ratings without stress.
For long, service providers have relied on social medias and referrals to get jobs. Service consumers(clients) find it very difficult to get connected with trusted service providers.

When a service provider accepts a job, payment is taken from the client’s account and held securely in an escrow account while the job is being completed. The service provider completes the job and requests payment. The customer releases the payment, and the service provider receives it in their account
